Blood cultures confirmed &lt;i&gt;S. maltophilia&lt;/i&gt;, resistant to empirical antibiotics (ciprofloxacin, gentamicin) but isolates were susceptible to levofloxacin (n=4) and minocycline (n=4); two were also susceptible to trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TMP-SMX) (n=2). Treatment with levofloxacin (14&amp;ndash;21 days; n=3) or oral TMP-SMX (10 days; n=1) resulted in recovery in three patients with minimal residual sequelae.
