- Emerging Infectious Diseases: Surveillance, detection, and characterization of novel and re-emerging infectious diseases.
- Clinical Microbiology: Laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases, including molecular diagnostics and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
- Immunology of Infectious Diseases: Host-pathogen interactions, immune responses to infection, and immunomodulatory therapies.
- Infectious Disease Epidemiology: Surveillance, outbreak investigation, and mathematical modeling of infectious diseases.
- Global Health and Infectious Diseases: Impact of infectious diseases on global health, including travel medicine and neglected tropical diseases.
- One Health: Interdisciplinary approaches to understanding and addressing the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health in relation to infectious diseases.
